Mr. Deutermann is an enthusiastic and popular public speaker. His preferred topic of expertise for speaking purposes is the business side of a fiction-writing career, which includes the effort to find the right agent, subsidiary rights, film deals, and developments in various book-selling markets. His preferred format is a ten-minute opener, followed by an extensive Q & A session on whatever the audience wants to talk about.

Mr. Deutermann charges a $400.00 speaking fee. He requests that his travel expenses (normally on a mileage basis) be covered, and that overnight accommodations be provided if the trip involves a drive of more than two hours from the Greensboro area.
